Redistricting of TX CD 25

Grant Rostig Dissatisfied with Court's Map

For Immediate Release: 8/07/2006

Austin, Texas  -  Grant Rostig speaks on the court's map.

"Why should Central Texas residents be happy with the change? As far as the residents of Central Texas consider themselves to be part of the Austin metropolitan region, they may receive better representation in Congress. On the other hand, those residents that consider themselves to be country folk, farmers and ranchers, may get less applicable representation. I am seeking to represent both, in that I would reduce the size and intrusiveness of the federal government for both. Each could live their lives as they see fit in their different environments. Furthermore, the counties and cities would be freer to serve their residents.

What do you think of the new boundaries? I still object to the new district 25 because it was drawn on the basis of ethnicity and political considerations, such as not pairing incumbents. It should be drawn on objective physical criteria only. However, the new district 25 is more compact and that is a step in the right direction. I have written an article on the issue of re-districting that is available in the 'for the media' section of my website. " replied Rostig, in response to media questions.

Dr. Rostig's campaign focuses on the fixing the borders, lower and simpler taxes, and smaller government.

Grant Rostig is the Republican candidate for the 25th Congressional District of Texas in 2006. He is a Liberty-Republican, endorsed by and following in the footsteps of Ron Paul (R) of TX CD 14. For more information please see http://www.Grant4Congress.com
